Ethical Expectations

Overview

For research to be useful and serve as the foundation on which additional research can be based, each researcher needs to understand and adhere to generally accepted practices within their field. While each discipline has a slightly different set of generally accepted practices, there are a number of common issues related to generation, storage and use of data, publication and presentation of findings and interpretations, and especially if it can be construed to be misconduct. As an undergraduate researcher, you will have the opportunity to learn about and to practice what is now know as the Responsible Conduct of Research.
